St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Brings on the Fun at Gore Mountain
NORTH CREEK, New York ??” Gore Mountain is piling on the St. Patrick’s winter fun starting Thursday, March 17! On St. Patrick’s Day, save $10 off a regularly priced one-day or half-day ticket by showing green on your hat, gloves, clothing, or boots.
On Friday, March 18, enjoy a guided community ski to the North Creek Ski Bowl. The ski is free to ticketed guests and season passholders, and includes interpretive information about the surrounding peaks and points of interest along the way. The ski is for upper-intermediate and better skiers. Shuttle service will be provided back to the mountain. Those interested should meet at the Summit Warming Hut at 11am. Upon return, guests can enjoy base area excitement at noon with a live remote from PYX 106 and Coca-Cola.
A trip for four to Aruba will be awarded at Gore Mountain’s Cardboard Derby on Saturday! Sleds constructed for either two or four people will showcase on “The Arena” trail at 11am, with judging based on downhill performance and design. Creative and unique sleds are strongly encouraged. The event is free, and those interested should visit The River 99.5 website at www.wrve.com for rules and information.
The weekend concludes with the Topridge Bump Contest at 11am Sunday, March 20! Participants will be judged on style, speed, control, and overall performance on Topridge’s moguls, with great prizes awarded for several age categories. Entry fee is $10 per person. WYJB will provide a live remote and entertainment on the deck 1:30-3:30pm.
Gore Mountain will keep the on-snow activites coming through mid-April, with upcoming events including the Season Passholder Mountain Challenge March 26, Sunrise Service and Easter Egg Hunt March 27, Gore Mountain Deck Party April 3, and Pond Skimming Contest April 10.
