Jay Peak in VermontAugust 29, 2013 (Jay, VT)- Q Resorts today announced the appointment of Steve Wright as its Chief Marketing Officer. In his new role, Wright will be responsible for overseeing all sales, marketing and hospitality initiatives at both Jay Peak and Burke Mountain. Wright previously served nine years as the vice president for sales and marketing at Jay Peak.

“It’s an exciting time in the Northeast Kingdom,” said Wright. “I’m looking forward to introducing our areas to not only a new generation of skiers and snowboarders, but also mountain bikers, tennis players and waterparkers.”

Wright has been at the helm of Jay Peak’s Marketing department since 2004 and has been the creative force behind the resort’s marketing initiatives. Under his direction, Jay Peak embarked on a series of creative campaigns deemed successful not only for the 200% growth in revenue attributed to them, but for the buzz they caused. During his tenure, Jay Peak won a total of 10 awards for its marketing campaigns; six of those accolades coming in the “Best Of” category from the National Ski Areas Association.

“There are more than 300 resorts in the country and it’s rewarding to see your team brought into the spotlight. We are planning on being responsible, creative stewards as we bring Burke and Jay Peak further into that light.”

Wright began his marketing career more than 20 years ago at Breckenridge Resort in Colorado. He went on to work for Killington early in the last decade before moving to Jay Peak. His appointment as Q Resorts Chief Marketing Officer became effective August 26. Q Resorts is the company that was created by Jay Peak co-owners Bill Stenger and Ariel Quiros when the two decided to purchase Burke Mountain in May of 2012.
