STOWE, Vermont ??” Stowe Mountain Resort has signed a sponsorship agreement with local ski hero Chip Knight. The agreement secures prominent Stowe branding with a logo on Chip’s helmet through the 2005-2006 ski season. Additional components of the sponsorship include personal appearances, pod-casts, blogs, and the use of Chips image in resort marketing. “Chip has a passion for Stowe, which makes him an ideal ambassador for our resort around the world,” said Mike Colbourn, Stowe’s VP of Marketing and Sales.

Chip will be at Stowe Mountain Resort during the upcoming holiday week, and will lead tours of the revamped Spruce Mountain. Tours will depart from the patio of the Spruce Peak preview center. Tour times will be available at the Spruce guest service desk beginning Monday 12/26.

Chip Knight was born in Stanford Connecticut and as a young athlete he raced with the Mount Mansfield Ski Club in Stowe. After attending Williams College, he went on to become a World Cup skier and compete at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. Chip has been both a World Junior and U.S National Champion. In January Chip will be competing in the World Cup Slalom in Switzerland and Austria. He presently resides in Stowe with his wife Marina.
