NEWRY, Maine — Sunday River opens for the summer season on Friday, June 26 with new scenic Chondola rides, 26 miles of Maine’s only lift-serviced mountain biking terrain and direct access to guided fly-fishing, ATV and Ranger tours all from the resort’s South Ridge Base Lodge. As well, Sunday River is home to the award-winning Sunday River Golf Club designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Sunday River’s convenient location, just 1.5 hours from Portland, ME, 1 hour from North Conway, NH and 3 hours from Boston, MA, makes Sunday River an easy choice for a nearby “staycation” or weekend getaway. Mountain Biking – The Sunday River Mountain Bike Park offers 26 miles of Maine’s only lift-serviced riding with varying difficulty levels and terrain ranging from open dirt roads to single track. The Chondola bike transport runs to the top of North Peak to serve the mountain bike trail network, operating Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. ??“ 4 p.m. Adult All Day Tickets with Chondola access are $27; trail access only tickets are $10.

Guided Canoe and Kayak Tours ??“ Nearby outfitter, Bethel Outdoor Adventure (BOA), offers outdoor canoe and kayak recreation to everyone, regardless of age or ability level. BOA will shuttle you up the river allowing for you to paddle back to their riverfront location. Choose from full day, half day, or even one-hour trips. The river is easily navigated by those with minimal experience, however registered Maine Guides are available upon request.
