NEWRY, Maine ??” With snowmaking season freshly underway, Sunday River is pleased to announce Alex Kaufman as the resort’s new communications manager.

Most recently of Bartlett, N.H. as communications manager for Attitash, Kaufman brings diverse ski and golf industry experience gained in locales such as Killington, Vt., western Massachusetts and numerous Colorado mountain towns.

“He’ll be a great addition to the team,” said Jim Costello, Sunday River vice president of brand management. “As Sunday River emerges as a true four-season resort, Alex’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the ski and golf lifestyle will be an asset.”

As communications manager, Kaufman will oversee media relations and snow reporting in addition to writing the resort’s online newsletter, which is free and available at www.sundayriver.com.

Kaufman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and has done graduate studies in meteorology. An accomplished skier and snowboarder, Kaufman plans to take up telemarking to go along with other hobbies including golf, soccer and weather watching.
