The Appalachian Hotel Spurs Growth at Mountain Creek

VERNON, New Jersey ??” Mountain Creek resort has announced the appointment of several key members to the management team, who will usher the resort into its next phase as New Jersey’s premier village-centered four-season mountain resort. With the opening of the first true village property, The Appalachian hotel later this summer, the resort is also beginning to recruit for many newly created positions in the rapidly growing hotel division. Rose Marie Regitnig has joined Mountain Creek as Director of Hotel and Conference where she will develop and staff the new hotel and conference operation from the ground up, working closely with the Marketing and Sales team. Born and raised in Sweden, Ms. Regitnig began her tenure at Intrawest in 1985 as the Front Office Manager at Whistler. In 1991 she moved to sister-resort Panorama Mountain Village, as a Destination Sales Agent and was most recently Director of Lodging there where she led her team in the management of 550 rental units with over 800 owners.

Said Ms. Regitnig, “I am looking forward to be part of the very dynamic and talented group of people at Mountain Creek who will ensure a successful future for the resort and all our partners. It is exciting for me personally to create the lodging program at Mountain Creek from the ground up and bring on new properties to this program in the future.”

Greg Pack has also joined the senior leadership team as Director of Mountain Operations. In this role he will be responsible for managing all mountain operations including ski patrol, snowmaking and trails, grooming, terrain parks, lift operations, lift maintenance, vehicle maintenance, facilities maintenance, risk management and worker’s compensation. Mr. Pack and his family also relocated to the area from Colorado, where he owned his own construction firm. Prior to that he was the Mountain Operations Manager at Keystone, a Vail Inc. resort, working his way up through the ranks during 13 years of service.

Said Mr. Pack, “I am extremely excited to be working with such a talented and energetic team to take Mountain Creek to the next level. I look forward to the challenges we face developing a mountain to support the expectations of a new base village.”

Mountain Creek is also thrilled to announce the return of several former employees including Michael Sangalli as Director of Business Planning and Analysis. Mr. Sangalli formerly served as Director of Accounting and Finance at the resort. His focus will be to continue the integration of the resort’s business systems with those of Intrawest under the new shared services structure and to support the business divisions in managing and driving their numbers.

Said Mr. Sangalli, I am extremely happy to rejoin such a great team at Mountain Creek. Having been with the resort prior to its acquisition, my first tenure was filled with many exciting and challenging times as the Mountain Creek evolved into the best winter resort in the region. However, I have never been more excited about the future of Mountain Creek as I am right now.”

Additionally, Jenny Harper returns as Resort Services Manager after several years pursuing other goals. In her time absent from the resort, she worked for Copper Mountain, Marriott and Decorative Product Source, Inc. As manager of the newly created Resort Services department, Ms. Harper will lead the Parking, Security, Guest Services and Ticketing departments.

Last but not least, after having completed several successful projects in the water park and golf businesses, Joe Hession, another alum will manage the Food & Beverage department. In his role as Food & Beverage Manager he will guide the department to the next level of the resort’s growth, expanding and improving the quality and service available at the resort. “We’re excited to welcome each of these professionals to our leadership team,” said Charles Blier, Vice President & General Manager, Mountain Creek. “Their combined experience will be a huge asset to the resort during this exciting chapter in our history. The senior team shares my excitement in having such a strong group of leaders joining us.”
