The Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Returns to Waterville Valley

WATERVILLE VALLEY, New Hamoshire ??” Waterville Valley will host the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Sunday, February 20. The races are complimentary for all skiers and snowboarders holding a valid lift ticket. Participants of all ages and abilities will compete in more than 30 age categories with the top three racers in each category receiving gold, silver and bronze medals.

Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Base Lodge. The first 100 registered racers will receive a custom Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge T-shirt. All registrants will be entered to win great prizes from the many sponsors that will be given away at the Vertical Victory Party after the races conclude. Prizes range from Convert Boardwear, Mountain Dew Skis and Snowboards, t-shirts, skateboards and much more.

The races begin at 11 a.m. The event is a lot of fun for all ages and abilities as the recreational Giant Slalom courses are set up on an intermediate trail. The format is simple – clock the fastest time and win. At 2:30 p.m. the Vertical Victory Party kicks into gear with music, games, awards and raffles in the Waterville Valley Base Lodge.

North Conway’s Cranmore Mountain Resort will host the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Wednesday, February 23.

The winners of the Mountain Vertical Challenge at Waterville Valley and Cranmore, as well as all the other participating mountains, are qualified to compete in the Eastern Finals which will be held at Loon Mountain, Saturday, April 2.
