Week of Wildcat Family Fun Wraps Up
PINKHAM NOTCH, New Hampshire ??” “Wildcat has received over five feet of new snow so far this month, with three feet of that in the past ten days,” notes Tom Caughey, General Manager of Wildcat Mountain, “The skiing and riding is absolutely fantastic. We’ve had very good conditions throughout most of this season — good snowfall combined with a lot of really nice skiing and riding weather. We started the week off with 10-14 inches of new snow with Monday’s storm finishing Tuesday morning. Then we woke up to another 4-6 inches of powder Wednesday morning. We’re hoping for a nice long spring ahead, too.”
Wildcat is wrapping up its Annual Week of Wild Family Fun, with lots of fun events. Tuesday’s Cardboard Box Race went off without a hitch, as did the Lunch Tray Luge on Wednesday. Both events ran a little slow because of the copious amounts of new snow. Though it was groomed, it was very soft and fluffy, making the sliding without skis or snowboard more difficult. Friday was the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge, today is apr??s ski with a live DJ, and tomorrow is Demo Day.
Events coming up at Wildcat include Demos Days (Sun., Feb. 27th, Sat. March 5th , Mon. March 7th, and Sat & Sun. March 26 & 27th ), the Pinkham Pursuit with Great Glen Trails on Thurs. March 3rd, Discover NH Road Tour on Fri. March 4th, with Molly the Mouse, the Skiing Cow, and the giant Prize Wheel, and The 2nd Annual 100K Day on Monday, March 7th. 100K Day is a fundraiser for Make-a-Wish Foundation that challenges skiers and riders to ski and ride 100,000 vertical feet in a single day.
