Whiteface and Gore Mountains Extend Spring Skiing / Riding to April 20-22

LAKE PLACID, New York — The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) has announced that Whiteface and Gore Mountains have extended the 2006-07 skiing and riding season one more weekend.

Whiteface, located in Wilmington, and Gore, located in North Creek, are closed during through Thursday but will re-open Friday, April 20 and run through April 22. Both mountains will be open from 8:30 am ??“ 4 pm. Whiteface will have the outdoor barbeque fired up as well.
Whiteface has received over two feet of new snow in the past week, while Gore has received over a foot of fresh snow with more snow on the way.

“We are thrilled with all the snow and the conditions are superb,” said Gore’s General Manager Mike Pratt.

“With mid-winter conditions this is some of the best skiing and riding we have ever had in April,” concurred Bruce McCulley, Assistant General Manager of Whiteface. “We look forward to seeing our season pass holders and daily guests at Whiteface.”

The Olympic Mountain in Wilmington will offer three lifts: Face Lift quad, Summit Quad and the Little Whiteface double chair.

Be on the lookout for the Whiteface only non-holiday season pass for 2007-08, going on sale May 1 for only $359 for adults. Ski or ride the remainder of the spring at Whiteface for only $99 with the Spring Thing ticket. 2007/2008 season passes are currently on sale at Gore Mountain, and new purchasers can enjoy the remainder of the current season as well as all of next year.
