Whiteface Mountain Adaptive Snow Sports Program Offers Free Clinics

WILMINGTON, NY ??” Whiteface Mountain will offer two Mono and Bi-Ski clinics in January, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) announced Wednesday.

The free clinics, slated for January 8 – 9 and January 24 ??“ 25, will teach attendees the principles of teaching and assisting those who require sit-down equipment to ski.

“Our goal is to increase the volunteer base to work with the disabled population,” said Don Dew, Director of the Adaptive Snow Sports Program at Whiteface.

Participants will meet at the Adaptive Office located in the Upper Tunnel at 9 am for registration each day. Daily on-snow instruction will be held from 10 am to 12 pm and 1 to 3 pm.

Whiteface Mountain PSIA-certified staff members will conduct the clinics. Upon successful conclusion volunteers will receive a certificate of participation.
