PINKHAM NOTCH, New Hampshire ??” There are big changes on the horizon for the Lion’s Den Children’s program at Wildcat Mountain this season with the hiring of a new children’s ski school director. Dan Hogan comes to Wildcat after spending four years in the Children’s program at Mad River Glen in Vermont, including one season as the Assistant Children’s Director. Before that, Dan taught children’s skiing at Wachusett Mountain and Ski Ward in Massachusetts

Dan’s assistant, Jayne Van Loon, is a seasoned veteran in the children’s program here at Wildcat. She has been teaching kids here for fifteen seasons. With the combination of her experience and the new energy that Dan has brought, the overall quality of the program is climbing leaps and bounds this season. Jayne runs the program on Mondays and Tuesdays, while Dan is in charge Wednesdays through Sundays.

According to Hogan, “Our philosophy in the Lion’s Den is to provide an environment for children where they feel safe and comfortable to explore the sport of skiing and snowboarding on their terms. Small group sizes led by instructor’s who share the same passion for this great sport insure that the children in our program have FUN while improving their skiing and riding skills. Wildcat is a great mountain to improve riding skills because there is great terrain available for skiers of all abilities.”

With trails that have a variety of knolls, rolls, twists and turns, our instructors run lessons into a mountain adventure. Whether the child is new to the sport, or have been riding for years, our program is sure to get them to love skiing or snowboarding, and to love Wildcat.
