WINDHAM, New York ??” With 2-3 inches of new snow on the ground, more snow falling steadily and the snow guns cranking out even more, Windham Mountain began a new winter season on Thanksgiving Day. Whistler Bypass, Upper Whistler, Lower Whistler and What’s Next are open, with the D Lift and quad spinning. Wooly Bear and the carpet lift should be open by Saturday if not sooner. Snowmaking guns are currently running on 11 trails. Wide Connection and the Wall should be added to the trail count by the weekend.

The resort opens with 28 acres and 1.5 miles of available terrain, with more opening quickly after that. Plenty of room to get in those early season turns! Snowmaking will be limited on open terrain over the weekend. By doing this, the resort will be able to focus on Upper and Lower Wolverine, White Way and the Jib Park.

On Thursday and Friday, lift tickets cost only $25. This weekend, the rate will be $30. Children 6 and under always pay just $10. And if those prices aren’t good enough, check this out: 1) Frequent Saver Card holders can take their usual discount, getting them on the slopes for as little as $12.50; 2) This week’s 1Card special is “buy one lift ticket and get one free.” It’s free, it’s direct to lift access and it gets you all kinds of deals all winter long.

“Our last month of skiing and riding last winter was just ideal, and it feels like we’re picking up where we left off,” said resort spokesman Kirt Zimmer. “It’s hard not to have the holiday spirit with this much snow on the ground!”
