Saddleback announced that the low temperatures have been great for snow making, bringing man-made powder across the resort. Red Devil, Gee Whiz, Smelt Streamer and Montreal have fresh snow mounds curing. Saddleback has produced over 11 inches of new snow in the past 8 days.

The weekend temperatures will be rising, and Saddleback expects to have 64 trails open and all lifts operating. Operations is working on the Montreal Half Pipe and the Gee Whiz terrain park. There is an awesome jump line in the Freerider terrain park. The southwest winds and a “nuclear” snow squall on Sunday pushed fresh powder into the glades giving them a whole new feel.

Also, Saddleback reminds that this weekend is Snodeo in Rangeley. Saddleback will be participating in the Rangeley Chamber Chili Chowder Cook Off Thursday evening at Bald Mountain Camps. Roland, Shafer and Chris will be serving up samples.
