E. BURKE, Vermont — One day before its opening day for the 2006\/07 season, Burke Mountain picked up about 6 new inches of natural snow over the last 24 hour period. In addition to this new snow, Burke is currently making snow on the lower mountain on High Meadows Pass, Dashney Mile, Carter Country and Midway. “The investment we have made in our snowmaking system is allowing us to cover much more terrain at a faster pace than ever before,” says Dick Andross, VP of Mountain Operations.<\/p>\n
Burke Mountain will be opening at 8:00 am on Saturday with Lower Warren’s Way (intermediate terrain) open, serviced by the Mountain Poma lift and $10 lift tickets. Lift tickets will go on sale at 8:00 am at the Mid Burke Lodge. The cafe at Mid Burke will open at 7:30 am and the Bear Den Lounge will open at 11:00 am. Sales and production of season passes will be available in the Sherburne Base Lodge starting at 8:00 am.
