LINCOLN, New Hampshire — The key to having more fun on the mountain is having more confidence and skill. Skiers and riders sometimes get stuck in a rut and can’t figure out how to bring their technique to the next level. This season, Loon Mountain introduces a new three-hour private lesson that gives guests the power to become better skiers and riders in a morning or afternoon, and break through to the next level of skill and enjoyment.

Loon’s highly-trained snowsports staff provides instruction and coaching to conquer the toughest terrain and the most ambitious personal goals. After one private lesson, skiers and riders will be have the confidence to move to the next level: from intermediate terrain like Blue Ox to the steeps of the North Peak; catching some air in one of the terrain parks; carving turns on the corduroy of Flying Fox; conquering the bumps on Flume or exploring one of the five tree skiing areas.

New customized private lessons allow visitors to choose their lesson time, coach, terrain and the techniques they want to learn or improve. Each lesson offers a unique experience on the mountain and includes VIP perks such as express lift line privileges. Three-hour private lessons are offered daily and cost $175 for one to five people. These lessons can even be split to accommodate different ability levels or interests of the participants, making this a great option for families.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or veteran skier or rider, lessons can make all the difference and enhance your time on the slopes” said Director of Loon Mountain Snowsports, Booie Alward. “Private lessons allow our guests to focus on specific terrain, techniques and fine tune even the smallest moves while gaining confidence in a very focused environment.”

The Loon Mountain Snowsports School offers coaching from highly-trained instructors like Travis Caboianco and Jason Audett. Caboianco is the highest certified snowboard instructor by the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) at Loon, is training to become an AASI examiner and is responsible for the snowboard instructor training program at Loon Mountain. In addition to the knowledge and skills of Audett and Caboianco, Loon’s Snowsports staff includes three snowboard instructors certified by the British Association of Snowsports Instructors, 15 AASI certified snowboard instructors, two alpine certified instructors by the BASI and 60 PSIA certified ski instructors who vary in expertise of terrain and techniques.
