(March 27, 2014) \u2013 As part of the Winter That Will Never End, Bolton Valley event planners are pulling out all the stop to create classic \u201cspring\u201d events for the last two weeks of operation during the 2013-2014 season. The ski area plans to close for the season on Sunday, April 6.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been quite a winter that\u2019s for sure,\u201d said Josh Arneson, director of sales and marketing at Bolton Valley. \u201cWhen Mega Storm Vulcan hit us with more than two feet of snow, we knew our March and early April skiing and riding would be a fantastic way to finish up the season. Add in the sunsets we have here at Bolton thanks to our western-facing slopes, and we are literally skiing off into the sunset. We\u2019re looking forward to some great events and to celebrate with our season pass holders and loyal skiers and riders.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bolton Valley Long Shot Mega-Box Challenge \u2013 Saturday, April 5<\/span><\/p>\n

The Long Shot Mega-Box Challenge combines two events into one. In the first event, competitors will find that the Bolton Valley park crew has strung together as many boxes in a row as they can. Competitors must try to make it to the end in one shot. The winner will be determined by whoever makes it the furthest. Each competitor gets two attempts. Then the park crew will work in the park in the days leading up to the event to set up the sickest rail jam possible for the second half of the event. Skiers and riders can show off their talent on the creative course.<\/p>\n

Event entry is $10\/person and all entries will be donated to the United College Club. Competitor lift tickets will be available for $19. Registration is from 10-11:30 a.m. in the base lodge. The Long Shot Mega-Box Challenge is from noon \u2013 12:45 p.m. The rail jam will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Awards will be given to the best overall skier and rider and for best trick. Other prizes based on gender, age, style and effort will be awarded at the judges\u2019 discretion. Awards for both events will be held at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

2014-2015 All Access Season Pass are now on sale as well. A family of four can save $360 when they purchase passes before April 1.
