KILLINGTON, Vermont — For the second consecutive year Killington Resort will host the Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow SEARCH National Finals March 2-4 at Bear Mountain.

The Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow SEARCH is a national series of ski and snowboard competitions in the U.S. and Canada. The goal is to find the 25 best athletes who will be named to the “Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow Team,” an All-Star recognition.

“We are extremely excited to host this event once again,” said Allen Wilson, president of Killington Resort. “Last year’s event saw kids from across the country compete at Bear Mountain and once again we’re thrilled to provide a world-class venue for these young athletes to showcase their talents.”

More than 110 boys and girls age 9-13, both skiers and snowboarders, representing more than 60 resorts from across the U.S. and Canada will all compete as one category. Events include: moguls, carving, big mountain riding, halfpipe, slopestyle, rails, racing, and big air. Athletes are required to compete in all events. Style, attitude and sportsmanship are also considered in addition to athletic skill.

“Killington’s Bear Mountain is a perfect venue for the Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow SEARCH and we’re stoked to be coming back,” said Jack Turner, creator of the Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow SEARCH.

In addition to three days of competition, athletes, their families and spectators will be treated to music, a snow cat parade, and a big air competition complete with a laser show, torchlight parade, on-snow cartoons and fireworks taking place Saturday night at 6 p.m.

Now in its fourth year, the Sports Illustrated KIDS NextSnow SEARCH is the only all-mountain, all equipment, and snow sports championship for kids. Additional information, including a complete schedule of all events is available at www.Next Snow.com .
