LINCOLN, New Hampshire — Families vacationing in New Hampshire’s White Mountains should be sure to visit Loon Mountain Saturday, August 18, for the Annual Ice Cream Festival, and again on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 and 2, for Loon’s Family Fun Festival . There is no charge for admission to either summer event. <\/p>\n

Guests can enjoy complimentary ice cream from Hood ?\u0412\u00ae and dance to the funky music of Lovewhip on Saturday, August 18, from 12:00 ??\u0432\u0402\u045a 4:00 PM. To help work off the ice cream, there will be a giant hula-hoop competition at 2:00 PM. Authentic Ice Cream Festival T-shirts will be on sale. All activities take place at Loon Mountain’s Octagon Lodge. <\/p>\n

Loon Mountain hosts its Family Fun Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 & 2. This is a weekend packed with music, food and fun for the entire family. All activity takes place at Loon’s Octagon Lodge. Below is the schedule of events for each day:<\/p>\n

Saturday, September 1
\n12:00- 4:00 PM Music by Hot Day at the Zoo and BBQ
\n1:00 PM Three-Legged Race
\n2:00 PM Corn-on-the-Cob Eating Competition
\n3:00 PM Watermelon Seed Spitting Competition <\/p>\n

Sunday, September 2
\n12:00- 4:00 PM Music by the Dave Keller Band and BBQ
\n1:00 PM Frisbee Throw
\n2:00 PM Giant Simon Says
\n3:00 PM Hula Hoop Competition <\/p>\n

Sign-up for the games begins 30 minutes prior to start times. Throughout the afternoon, there will be a craft corner where kids can tie-die T-shirts, make root beer floats and more. A small fee applies to crafting activities. <\/p>\n

For more excitement, enjoy New Hampshire’s longest gondola sky ride, explore glacial caves, climb the Summit Observation Tower, rent a bicycle, or scale Loon’s outdoor climbing walls. Loon Mountain is open daily for all activities from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. <\/p>\n
