NEWRY, Maine — As the first act in the Bud Light Concert Series lineup at Sunday River, Rustic Overtones will take the stage upstairs in the White Cap Lodge on the evening of Jan. 5, 2008.

The Portland based Rustic Overtones have been jamming since the early nineties and have the distinguished honor of being the first group to perform live on XM Satellite Radio. In the group’s earliest days, they were mostly classified as a ska and soul band, but their sound has since become much more refined and diversified. Recently reunited after a five-year hiatus, this hard-hitting, show-stopping, horn-powered rock band’s new music reflects their newfound independence.

Other marquis acts in the diverse three-concert series will include Big Head Todd and the Monsters on February 23 and Little Feat on March 15.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters have been together since their Colorado college days in the mid-1980s, recording eight studio albums, two live albums and touring with rock legends including Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. They have produced several top-ten radio hits such as “Broken Hearted Savior,” “Circle” and fan favorite “Bittersweet.”

Little Feat has been around since 1969, and while it has seen a few lineup changes, the music has always been an eclectic mix of blues, R&B, country, New Orleans funk and rock and roll. Over the years, they have collaborated with such prominent musicians as Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Beck, Brian Wilson, Bonnie Raitt and John Lee Hooker among many others. With over three decades in the music business, this seven-member powerhouse will surely entertain every concertgoer.

Sunday River’s Marketing Manager Caroline Ochtera said, “the Bud Light Concert Series has steadily been growing in both quality of acts and popularity for the past few years and the lineup for this season is no different.”

The White Cap Base Lodge is the venue for all Bud Light Concert Series performances with transportation service to and from the shows available by the on-mountain trolley system and the Mountain Explorer shuttle.
