The first flakes of snow will soon be falling to mark the beginning of Stratton Mountain’s 50th year. In honor of its golden birthday, the mountain is geared up to celebrate a long history full of great snow, good times and happy people! Everyone is invited to the party, which will feature a display of memorabilia at the 50th Anniversary Studio and a collection of limited edition 50th Anniversary merchandise.<\/p>\n

Crowning the list of anniversary offerings, like a cherry on top of a powder sundae, is Hubert Schriebl’s new book, Stratton: The First Fifty Years. Schriebl is a well known Stratton photographer and has spent decades recording life on the mountain. The book showcases Schriebl’s ability to capture Stratton’s unique personality throughout the years. A must-have for dedicated skiers and riders, the book offers a stunning photographic history of the resort from 10 trails to 92. Signed copies are available!<\/p>\n

Our collection of Stratton-ized limited edition merchandise and apparel is another great way to take part in celebrating 50 years of Stratton. History enthusiasts should stop by the 50th Anniversary Studio in the heart of Stratton’s mountainside village. The cozy cabin-like shop features a collection of Stratton photographs, posters and memorabilia. Here, visitors can both discover Stratton’s history and contribute to it by sharing a story and taking a photograph in front of the Stratton of 1969. The photos will be added to the collection, along with a display of skier-submitted Stratton season passes throughout the years. Anyone may scan their season pass collection and email it to [email]khand@intrawest.com[\/email] (by November 10to be included in the display; later submissions will be shown in the Studio). It’s a perfect way to make your mark at Stratton!<\/p>\n

The 50th season kicks off November 23rd, following last year’s season of record-breaking snow. Now is the perfect time for newcomers and long-time Strattonians alike to come out and celebrate many seasons of shredding and many more to come!
