Pico Mountain partners with National Ski Areas Association to promote slope safety during National Safety Awareness Week 2012, January 14-22<\/p>\n
KILLINGTON, VT, (January 13, 2012) – Vermont’s Pico Mountain is offering a free lift ticket with every new helmet purchased at Pico Sports Shop during National Safety Awareness Week, January 14-22. Pico Mountain will be partnering with the National Ski Areas Association to promote a series of special events, contests and giveaways to help encourage responsible skiing and riding.<\/p>\n
These educational programs all relate to NSAA’s Your Responsibility Code – the seven point code that outlines responsible slope behavior for skiers and riders, and Smart Style – the parks and pipes initiative that focuses on safety awareness and the use and progression of freestyle terrain at mountain resorts.<\/p>\n
FREE Lift Ticket with a New Helmet
\nBuy a helmet at Pico Sports retail shop during the week of January 14-22, 2012 and receive a voucher for a one-day lift ticket valid any day during the 2012 winter season starting January 24, 2012.<\/p>\n
Kids’ Prizes and Interactive Safety Awareness Display at Pico Base Lodge
\nNational Safety Awareness Week will be in full swing at the Pico Base Lodge where Mountain Ambassadors host an interactive family-friendly display. Here, kids can register to win snow sports helmets and other prizes and are invited to talk with Mountain Ambassadors, participate in coloring projects, and take a safety awareness quiz. There will also be plenty of free stickers, tattoos, and opportunities to win raffle prizes.<\/p>\n
On the Hill
\nMountain Ambassadors will be out on the hill distributing Heads Up! – Know the Code and Smart Style stickers and cards, in addition to giving away Get Smart -Freestyle Terrain Users’ Guides.<\/p>\n
