CONCORD, New Hampshire ??\u0432\u0402\u045c The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of New Hampshire (GFWC-NH) are planning a series of events commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the discovery of the Old Man of the Mountain. The series of events will take place over the summer and fall months in Franconia Notch State Park.<\/p>\n

The series of events will kick off with a dinner at the Flume Gorge on June 15th. The dinner will be an Old Man Stewards recognition dinner and will be open to the public. On July 9th there will be a free concert by the Nevers Band on Profile Field. A Family Fun day has been planned for August 20th on Profile Field. To round out the series there will be a Harvest Day on Profile Field on September 24th.<\/p>\n

The Division of Parks and Recreation teamed with GFWC-NH because they have chosen to support the Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund as their President’s Project for 2004-2006.. ???We have chosen this project because of our long association with the Old Man and with Franconia Notch State Park.???, said Gail LeShane, President, GFWC-NH.<\/p>\n
