Mount Snow ski patrol opened additional trails this afternoon. U would only know via word of mouth as the app listed them as closed. This highlights two issues .. 1. lack of staffing to open up trails and 2. Piss poor communication. But I guess they have our money so why would they care.
This line is a gem!
"But in acquiring Masshole-reachable resorts such as Attitash, Vail was also now in business with a particular type of customer who’s intensely demanding despite living in a region notorious for less glamorous conditions."
Totally agree. Complete BS. Uncles should be open, for example. In fact, it was open yesterday! But closed today for no reason whatsoever. OMT has water bars . . . we've been dealing with that for years before the latest management. Thin cover sign and go!. But not this year, Shootout...

I got a little more detail from a J1. The contract states they have to be given an "average" of 32 hours per week as calculated over the entire term of employment. So it seems that Vail gave them far more than the required 32 hours earlier in the season, and has now calculated how much they...
To those that are saying it's a worker shortage, you need to get your facts straight. Vail manufactured a staffing shortage all by themselves with massive reductions in staff hours that commenced in the last week or so. Many people quit to find other work with more hours.
When the Mount Snow GM, Brian Suhadolc, recently made a rare appearance in the Summit lodge, a Mount Snow regular asked him to respond to the lack of communication, staffing and service cutbacks, lack of snowmaking, dirty bathrooms and floors, garbage cans overflowing, and the fact that many...
There are no features on Deer Run/Gulch). And Nitro/Fools Gold has plenty of room on skiers left and right if you don't want to do the features. Plus, the features may get nixed as they get closer to April 24th to spread the snow.
