Last year I demoed 5&6 star Volkls. A local shop gave me a apair of each to try out. Previously I have never skied a pair of Volkls. If I have to pay full price for skiis then the 6 stars are the only thing I would recommend. rivercoil is right on this one.
This is and old process that is slowly catching on. Carrabassett Valley, Me. was one on the earlier areas to utilize "SNOWFLUENT" as a purifying process for grey water. It's actually not a bad dea for areas expanding fatser than their britches. do a search for "snowfluent" in google.

Bumps are set on Flume. I can't contribute, but my kids were in them for the past nine days. If you want some tree skiing, PM me. I made a shot over to the bottom half of Triple with some poacher friends. Little bit of fresh snow and some rock skiis we made some freshies shots were no...
I've called in sick twice this week and will be on vacation this coming week. I'll get another nine days in this week. I think my buddies who ski the trees have the right idea. Sneak into the bush, start a small fire and cook a couple foil wrapped leftovers and maybe a beer for lunch. No...
Loon slightly exceeded their budget. It costs them approximately $1000/hr for electricity for snowmaking. They won't need to keep making snow. The more snow you make, the more money you lose.
Pop on the lip, hands forward and straight air for a bunch of times until you feel like you're just riding over a knoll. Then start sucking your legs up into a tuck as you do your straight air jumps. From there you can get to your grabs, irons, mutes and start spinnning. Good luck!
I love how Trail maps turns into Foosball, soroity girls, and bars.
We used to play at The Barn at Loon for drinks (20 years ago). Girls, drinks, and foosball till closing time. I played "D".
Now I just admire my trail map collection and go to bed by 8:30.
As long as you don't expect much, the Tenney experience won't let you down. Waterville has a good snowmaking system and took advantage of the past week and a half of cold days with little winds. Stay off the top and enjoy the cruisers.
Skierman,
Cannon's a blast if there's freshies. I live ten miles south of it and we got robbed on this last storm, a "dusting". Watch the weather and drop on it right after fresh snow, you'll love it.
Boss Man,
You have plenty of material to work with. At Loon they do the shelf method and angle the blade to pull the material in betweeen the bumps down to the next shelf to be made. (Crown of the bumps are 11' on center) I personally haven't done it, but having been a snowmaker and groomer...
Dan DiPiro.
I'm reading the threads thinking seems like I should know this guy. Then it dawned on me. I met you at the Comp Center at the Loon EQS moguls meet and if I recall you were with Shuffleton at the Loaf. You made a sweet run through the bumps after the Loon meet was over. Both of...
Loon,Waterville,Sunday River,Sunapee,Sugarloaf, Stratton, Killington all cut moguls by cat. I would bet that there are many more areas that do the same. There are areas that let some trails go wild and bump naturally. In the "B" level of Freestyle it is suggested that the moguls be 11' on...
Cannon has one of the smallest snowmaking systems in the area when you compare it's size(acreage) to the system capacity. Most ski areas have reached their snowmaking budgets due to the marginal temperatures and poor output when they did run.
