What ski related opinion did you have as a kid, but later learned you where wrong.

I grew up skiing at Hunter (which was great), but I use to think Vermont was the Promised Land.
I use to think Stratton was great (because it was in Vt. and was the only Vt. Area my Dad took me to.)
I use to think Vt. had the highest mountains in the Northeast, but then I saw the High Peaks

I don't have any...my Parents weren't very into winter
or, tennis, or golf, or baseball, or football, or ice hockey...you get the idea

Now, I do all of that stuff with my family

Now coaching soccer was a gear shifter for me...I just pretend it's hockey

Same. I used to think skiing was a made up sport that the made up families on the disney channel used to do with each other.

Same boat. My parents never did anything I do now- climbing, skiing, sailing, cycling, firefighting.

Although I can say "I used to think" because I never really did much thinking in general. Hence the drool strains on all my shirts.

I used to think the Knight Rider and American Gladiators were the best shows ever.

Looks like some TV networks still do.

I grew up thinking places like Loon and Sunday River were the best mountains in New England and not caring much for Northern Vermont. :spin:

I also grew up thinking hiking in the winter when there was good skiing at the resorts was for whackos.

I used to think that ski wear that consisted of stretch pants and lots of neon colors was cool.

Looking back it was pretty comical. MC 'Hammer Time' on the slopes from 88 through 92.
