Stowe..Sunday 11/30/08....

I plan on closing out a great November of east coast skiing with a trip up to Stowe. I'm driving up Saturday and plan on being at the hill early Sunday morning for what I hope will be some untracked. Is anybody planning on skiing Stowe on the 30th.

The Forerunner quad is a great lift and you can really access to alot of terrain from that..there's lots of nooks and crannies I'm looking forward to hitting for almost guarenteed freshness..I love playing Stowe tour guide so PM me or post in this thread if you want to close out November at the best place to ski East of the Rockies..

When I wake up..hopefully on the early side like 8AM or so..I booked a room at the mountain road resort for a deeply discounted rate.

If you end up going to Stowe maybe we can meet up for some turns/beers..I've never been a fan of car-pooling..

im going to make the call friday evening. but looking on tgr today it sounded like there was a freeze thaw. so off trail will be hard/crusty. so im taking a wait and see. worst case ill head to the bell for some fun on sunday.

I'm counting on/hoping for several inches of new snow between now and Sunday morning..maybe some storm skiing on Monday..if not then I'll just be on my race skis..

Mountain Road Resort..across the street from the mini-mart/subway/gas station..I stayed there in April and got a great rate and I got an equally great rate again..Very nice place..

so it looks like they will get a decent snow fall and if you factor in the upslope snow machine they could get a foot. so i will leave here around 10

There 5 inches of fluff since the freeze Tuesday. Only gonna get better. Monday Morning should be interesting....should get to see the rediculous line up if the snow pans out. Plan on showing 45min to an hour early for first chair.

do you know if anybody has been up in the last few days? i may bring the splitty and just go over to the gondi side.

I'm sure it's getting lapped by folks coming over from the quad. Spruce could be worth the skin though. Smugglers is always a bit of a stash, and you can GS the race pitch in front of the lodge at the end! Patrol LOVES that. I may be there Monday depending on who gets what.
