so the other day my wife says to me, "Oh, by the way, I am going to Vegas with all my girlfriends to celebrate our 35th birthdays" (we are 33 now)...so i'm like, "cool, have a great time" knowing all too well that that just gave me the green light to go do what I want to do on my 35th. I further respond "I think I'll shoot out west with a few buddies and do some heli skiing"...her response...."cool" I'll get back to you when that trip starts to get planned!!!!!

These reciprocal vacation things are lots of fun, especially when you don't have kids. When you have to negotiate them with kids involved, it gets a lot more complicated. Just be sure to be able to talk openly about it - if one or the other of you starts to feel like the other is getting the better deal, you could have trouble on your hands.

oh, we have kids (2 of em) but thats never stopped us from doing everything we want, our kids travel very well.........they have no choice!!!!

You left out the apres strip club.

Amazing you plan two years ahead. I'm lucky if I know what I'm doing two days from today.

Interesting plans.

I spent my 35th with my wife and daughter. We went on a nice hike, then had dinner with the family.

Your's sounds like fun too.

I spend alot of time with the fam, thats one benefit of owning your own biz...i dont travel, I'm home everynight by 6:15, Thursday and Fridays my wife is at work by 7, i have the 2 kids up, fed, clothed, bags packed and to the sitter by 8...my wife and i are very good about giving each other our "own" time, everyone needs it and everyone benefits from it!! nothing wrong with some of the boys getting together for a ski trip....
