I like to vacation in Cape Cod and last summer BeanoNYC was taking a trip out there and had some questions. As a result of these questions, I noticed that a lot of folks from Alpine Zone like to vacation out there and was wondering if we could get a group of folks out at the same time. Not sure which direction this would go in, vacation together or just the occasional get together, but guess asking is a good start.

Me, I like to camp out in N. Truro, take long walks.... , oops wrong forum.

Anyway, we:
  • Normally camp out in N. Truro.
  • Bike just about every day.
  • Get a permit to drive on the beach and hang out there usually at night in front of a fire.
  • Do the whale watch thingie
  • Eat plenty of lobsters and oysters
  • And yes an occasional walk on the beach, especially for sunsets :)
Not sure if we're going this year or if we do go, when we may go. I would probably try to schedule vacation around a holiday such as 4th of July or more likely Labor Day. Anyway, that's all I have for now. Anyone else interested in getting something together for the Cape?

I might be interested. It all depends on when the baby arrives. Labor day could be a strong possibility. My in-laws have a place in Brewster. Nickerson Park is near by and offers camping.

Look into those permits to drive on the beach sooner than later. I believe it was Orleans who drastically cut back on the number of permits being granted. The storms where pretty bad in some areas and they are restricting access.

We are hoping to get one more trip up there before the baby is due.

I don't normally do the Orleans permits, too expensive. I go for the National Seashore permits which allow you access to the National Seashore Beaches from P-Town to Wellfleet.

Andy...Me and you alone in P-Town, baby!

Yeah Baby!!!!! ;)

Andy, I'd be interested in a trip to the Cape. Little snowmonster and I are heading to Wellfleet on the last weekend of July. That's a town away from Truro. Let me know if you're in the area at that time.

How long you planning on going for? Just a weekend or extended? Oh, and very familiar with Wellfleet, always try to get to the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre. They put on some really good plays.

Andy...wouldnt a better title have been "Cape Cod AZ GET TOGETHER"?

You ARE trying to tell us something I think. ;-)
