Was driving South on I91 yesterday. Right about at Greenfield (Rt. 2 West Exit - I think exit 26) exit in MA there appeared to be ski slopes looking toward the Southeast from the exit. Looked like 1 relatively wide slope, and a couple of narrower slopes. Was that a closed ski area we were seeing?

Easton Ski Area, part of the Eaglebrook School (grades 6-9).

Double chairlift, ~440' vertical drop, snowmaking on trails of each ability, two ski jumps. Only open to students, faculty, alumni, visiting racers, and locals (one day per year).

Interesting. Wasn't aware of any ski area in that vicinity. But we certainly thought it looked like a ski area.

There's also a lost ski area on the back side of it.

Eaglebrook's had lift serviced skiing for over half a century...the area as visible now has been around since the 1970s...it was T-Bar serviced when I went there, but the chairlift was installed in the late 90s if I recall offhand.

Since I grew up in the Berks we used to race there. Talk about a STEEP T-Bar ride...

Was the lost ski area on the back from Deerfield Academy? I know there were remnants of one place connected...

Try pulling a patrol sled up that thing! Not much fun!

Yes...pretty well grown in, but still easy to get to. Closed in the mid 1980s I believe.

Wasn't there also a "lost" run skier's far right that brought you down to campus? I seem to remember that instead of shlepping across the field.

Prior to the T-Bar being installed, there was a rope tow area in the vicinity of the old Keith dorm (near the first left turn on the beginner trail).

Gotcha, I just found it on NELSAP. Very cool.

While we are at it - is there a lost area on the right hand side of RT2 East of Charlemont, West of Greenfield? I used to drive that route so much I zoned out but one day I thought I saw a T-Bar terminal...

Mt. Mohawk, now owned by none other than the Cos.
