So if the title didn't indicate it I wanted to see how many people eat SUSHI and what is your favorite roll.

My girlfriend and I eat out at sushi restaurants twice a week. We range from a handroll to sashimi. Personally, I love yellowtail handrolls and spicy tuna. The more wasabi the better...

HOW ABOUT YOU?

I have very little to contribute to this post since I've never eaten sushi. I'm a genius right? Why am I posting?

Bored.

I have had tuna steaks cooked less than rare though (the correct way to cook one I guess) and it was fine.

Although with the title of your thread this could technically also refer to cold smoking a food...

Sushi is great. We eat it probably once a week.
My favorite roll is a Spider Roll (soft shell crab), which isn't raw, but oh so tasty. I do like the spicy tuna, though. Favorite sashimi is Toro (fatty tuna)- melt in your mouth goodness.
Tobiko is fun, too. Nothing like uncovering little poppy goodness an hour later, stuck in a tooth.

Wasabi is Japan's gift to man.

My family gets take-out sushi regularly and we even "roll our own" about once a month.

My favorite maki from our local place is their "Rock and Roll" maki, which is spicy shrimp tempura wrapped in nori (seaweed) with rice and tobiko on the outside. Crunchy and spicy. Yum.

And about once a month I go into Boston to my favorite Japanese fish market for all the makings and we invite friends over for a sushi party. You never know exactly what you'll find when you go there, but let's just say it's pretty amazing. Their bluefin tuna and salmon are right off the boat and melt in your mouth. Occasionally they have live scallops which you just shuck and eat - delicious!! (Don't try this with Stop & Shop scallops!). We've come up with a few favorites of our own, and have turned several of our friends (and our kids) on to sushi. It's a lot of fun.

I'd tell you the name of the fish market, but then you'd be in competition with me for the live scallops, and I'd have to kill each of you..........:-)

I've been eating sushi and sashimi since I was a toddler in the late 1950s. My favorite raw fish lately is mackeral (aka Saba) - it's incredibly flavorful.

My favorite is the Champion Roll. Its a splicy tuna roll with eel on top. Its amazing when the eel sause is warm and well made. Besides that, I love 99% of all other sushi. I dont like the roe, the popping is gross. It all needs lots of wasabi. If anyone is every in NYC, there is a place called Oyama on 1st ave between 11 and 12th. It super good and cheap and the portions are large. I eat there everytime i visit my girlfriend. Good miso too!

I haven't had any in a while, but it is great stuff. I don't have any personal fav's, I usualy just get a combo platter with a whole bunch of stuff. This thread has got me craving some now, I will have to get some.

We have a Shushi Bar at Hunter... I eat it every weekend!

Love spicey and crunchy tuna... Or noname rolls..

Closes this weekend :(

Steak Tartar. Also dead, also not cooked, also quite tasty.
But only if you grind it yourself. Otherwise, not so safe.
