Facebook for (Ski) Clubs?

Hey folks,
What's your take on using Facebook by a (ski) club to promote events and foster member to member relationships? Useful? What do you recommend as an appropriate use of facebook by clubs?

definitely if the ski clubs want to appeal to the younger demographic

It's just another way to get info out provided you have enough users who join your group. You can then easily send messages, invite folks to activities, etc . . . FYI there is an AlpineZone group.

I'm more into using Facebook then message boards...

i think social networking will make message boards dinosaurs in another couple of years as it starts to mature..

Only starts getting weird when you post things like "what sexual position are you" quiz results to your page
