Going to try to make our first trip to Hunter this weekend with our boys. We ski Belleayre all season, and like the bump runs when we can find them (good recently). We are making the trip to find challenging skiing. Any advice on logistics (where should we try to park, when should we arrive, go straight to hunter west?, ways to navigate the crowds, etc) would be much appreciated. And of course, advice on trails to hit and timing, similarly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Start early on the main Qaud - Ski Hellgate down to Racers Edge or Eisenhower(Ike)
Move over to The Cliff and down to Racers and Ike... If the crowds build..
After a couple runs maybe head to the East side and ride the F chair...

West side opens at 930.... From the top go down White Cloud and cut over to Wayout. down to the Z chair.. On the Z chair you can get a good look at Clairs(bumps).. If the Y lift is open - you should ride that - there's NEVER a line...

In the after noon hit the East side.. Minya Konka and East Side Dr for some late day sun...

Ask Patrollers where is good - there all pretty cool...

at Belleayre Sundays seem consistently less crowded, is it the same at Hunter?

Depends on conditions.....the west side is always less crowded....but its a lot harder than the rest of the place.
