Or ice?

The forecasts are trending colder especially for Northern New England. Let's hope for wintry precip!

I hope its colder then they're predicting for Stowe. The forcasts are saying a wintery mix during the day on Friday changing to rain/freezing rain at night!

Crossing fingers, snow dances, and praying hasn't been working. May have to experiment with sprinkling baby powder on topo maps with the hopes of inspiring some voodoo magic.

That sounds like a great idea!

It had better be snow...I'm getting sick of this weather, but am trying to see the supposed light at the end of the tunnel, which is colder weather for next week.

It seems like I keep hearing this and then we get 2-3 days of colder weather and then back to 50's, rain, or both...

I keep trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel, too. I just hope it's not a train.

I'm on the verge of just selling all my ski gear. I figure the day it all sells, there'll be the Mother of All Snow Storms (tm) that will last the rest of the season. If riding rentals is what it takes, I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

looks like both NCP followed by a dusting for northern N.E. and upper elevations from what i have seen, but based on the forecast i just saw, i really don't think even the professionals can accurately forecast what's coming friday night into saturday morning yet. my hunch is skiing might be dust in crust in many parts of new england depending on when the groomers get out. should be interesting to see what happens at higher elevations...

00-01 was basically a tie with 02-03 for the best season since the mid-90s. Still, we haven't really had any years that produced a good fall and spring. 00-01 was nice after Christmas. 02-03 started out really good, but had a lousier spring than 01-02 did. (Boy did that winter rot.) This year, signs are pointing to a cold one, but so far, it has been typical New England- Flipflopping mroe than Senator Kerry. Next week's cooldown looks like it will be longer than the past few.

As for Friday, it looks like maybe some ice in the morning, but mostly a rain event. However, Sunday Night into Monday Morning have some snow coming. Hopefully we can get a few inches to kick off a good snowmaking week.

With the forecast for rain this weekend and cold weather for next week, maybe this weekend will best be spent doing holiday shopping :-?

There is no shopping option, NCP Sleet ,Snow, Mud. Its ski season Must make turns. 8) My wife is shopping I'm going skiing she does not want to go for the same reasons,

Stowe is in rough shape, and the forecast is looking bleak. Sounds like rain with mixed rpecip over night, then snow to rain on Sat. UGGGH!

Not looking good for this system, as it's tracking up the St. Lawrence Valley and any colder air will be easier to dislodge this time than it was during the last storm. Behind this next week, however, winter may finally be arriving. Our latest forecast was just published overnight here for anyone who's interested.

accuweather just changed its prediction for Vermont....if not looking good, then at least not looking like a peice of monkey $#%. Heck, might even help things.

Looks like no one on this thread had called this one a very good storm, so I'll be the first. From Magic/mt snow and Sunapee/gunstock northward it'll be maily snow with major accums from route 302 north in both states and maine.

Takers?

Trip is all paid for, it's too late to cancel. I've heard now that the predictions have changed...I hope what I have heard is true.
