How much rain have you gotten in the last few days? At my house, 10 minutes northwest of D.C. we've gotten 7 inches in 24 hours, 9 inches in 36 hours, and the best part is that it's supposed to conitnute at this pace until Wednesday morning. The flooding has been so bad that the beltway, the highway that goes around D.C., was closed last night because a creek that has never flooded in recorded history flooded last night and covered the highway in about 4 inches of mud. Luckily for me my house isn't at the bottom of the hill, so my house is safe.

Its nice today on Long Island but this past weekend it rained alot. I don't have a clue how much but it was alot. Flooding is not much of a problem on the Island since it is mostly sand.

It's been pretty damn rainny here in CT for too long too. No major flooding or anything in my part of the state though.

Weather reports say 2-4 inches yesterday in the state. Dry now and a S wind is trying to break the clouds. Sun is in the forecast for today before more rain tomorrow.

Sunny and humid here just east of Worcester today, but on the TV weather they keep talking about the record amounts of rain since May 1. Over 20 inches in New England (some spots much more) since 5/1 and in a normal year we get 40", so we've had plenty. My lawn is starting to mold........

I know over that Mother's Day weekend storm, my town got 12" of rain in about 48 hours. I think the May-June rainfall total is up around 25-30". I'd have to check that to be sure though, but I thought that's what NECN said yesterday, and we have rain forecast for the rest of June.

Ahhh.....New England. All or nothing. You can start placing bets now that July and August will be extremely dry...

Just took a short walk. You would not believe the amount of new growth on the pine trees outside! Most likely from all this rain.

I planted 2 rhododendrons 3 years ago and they barely grew until this year. One of them is at least a foot taller than it was 2 months ago.....

This weather is just killing the farmers though....none of the corn has grown and some trees on the way to VLS still have not fully leaved out!!!!

It's kind of ironic that one gallon of GAS is more expensive than one gallon of MILK!

IT JUST STARTED RAINING AGAIN! I'm about ready to go:

I just hope we get lots of precipitation next winter. If nothing else, this rain should fill all of the snowmaking ponds.

The only upside I can think of is that I have been able to spend some quality time with my new goodies here:
