....this month on BreadLoaf Wilderness (VT, east of Middlebury, West of Green Mountain Crest) backcountry. Guy has been skiing this stuff for 15 years and says he's never, ever bumped into another skier. The area is huge, and it gets the "snow goods" very nicely....

Not sure I've heard about such a large, yet unpublicized playground. Interesting.

I believe the Breadloaf area is part of the bigger Moosalamoo region. Check the link for more info.

Correct....

....and Moosalamo was profiled in (I believe) a Vermont Life article last summer. The focus of that was the hiking and natural beauty of the area with brief mention of, if I recall, winter x-c skiing.
