Memorable runs from 2008-09...

Now that the ski season is over for the majority of us, Write about your favorite runs from this past ski season.

Alot of my favorite runs and tree skiing are at Stowe. Skiing Goat from the top to midway mid April with Johnny Style and Dime was fun..chalk to corn to mank..and excellent coverage. The top of Starr was similar but a little more wide open to link mid radius turns. At 30+ degrees it's moderate to those who ski Tuckermans and out west but still almost scary steep at the top for an east coast intermediate.

Honable mention..Kitchen Sink and Goatdive woods..always delivering...at Jackson hole the bumps under Thunder are great..here is a picture for stoke..and Flying down Sundance Gully on fresh cord keeps a speedfreak occupied on hardpack days..at Blue shout-outs go to Switchback, Barneys Bumps and Razors..too many steezy runs to talk about in this thread..What are your favorite runs from 2008-09??? My favorite run last year was my last run of the year....

Gunstock - Hotshot

Spring conditions. Thin cover signs up Wife and I taking a few runs while the twins were in the lodge with grandma.

People were sidstepping down do to ice/unskiable sections. We both just got after it, me on my board here on 2 planks. I picked a line and hit it hard and fast, kind of on the edge of in and out of control (we have all been there!) As I rode past a couple of teen guys who where stopped I saw the look af awe in their eyes (At least that is what I am telling myself it was).

Best part was watching the wife rip down, I don't know she had it in her.

I think that run is waht convinced us to get passes for Gunstock for the 09/10 season.

Probably various runs at Sugarbush during a weekend day in February in the middle of that 5-day, 60-inch storm. A runs in the morning on Paradise woods was amazing sticks out, but the whole day was great.

April 5th, the morning after 10 Sam Adams and a late night Taco Bell trip. I'll never forget those runs.

Some time in Feb. perfect blue bird day, me and 3 friends skinned up Brodie Mtn. Had knee deep the entire way down. Only tracks on the mtn. were ours.

Feb 20th - Spillsville and woods off Organgrinder at Sugarbush. Was day two of the big snow weekend and hit lots of untracked snow with my 10 year old

Feb 21st - Ripcord and Paradise - was a top 10 day for a lot of people with seriously deep powder off the Heavens Gate chair

Feb 22nd - Sunrise / Birch Run late afternoon - skiing with my wife while it was dumping about 2 inches an hour and we were among the 10 people still on the moutain on the North Lynx Triple

Monday, February 23rd, Mount Snow - maybe an 8 to 10" storm, with LOTS of blow in

Pic taken about 11AM - just my tracks (took me a couple of runs before I hit the jackpot!

Tuesday March 3rd Mount Snow again - the day after what turned out to be the last snow storm of any significance of the season, and some trails were "reserved"

Off the top of my head: Last weekend in March down Starr, in wonderful condition, sun shining, 66 degrees. Mmmmm.

Last day of the season, April 14, Organgrinder.

Dec. 20 (?) Lift Lion at Wildcat.

A few Sundays, my wife and I would take a few runs down "Thanks Walt". The sun was shining and no one was around. It was pretty awesome.

2/20/009 Wand at Magic

many great runs in 2008-2009, but one of the most memorable was dropping off of a small ledge on top of the Schindler Spitze at St. Anton into a very steep unnamed/unmarked chute that steadily gave way to a giant bowl. the snow was thigh-deep (i'm 6' 6"), the sun was brilliant and the sky was dark blue.

ended the run at lunch with a heap of grilled sausages and potatoe salad. and a giant beer.

i took the picture below about one-third of the way down and after the chute had opened up. you can see the restaurant in the far-off distance.

The first one that comes to mind is Vista Way @ Cannon after the December storm that left a foot + of light snow!

08 - 09......a season to remember

i cant put into words how awesome this year was (i feel like i say that every season). it started great on november 2nd at the big K with T to B off the gondi and ended may 3rd when me and some buds hiked to killington peak and got in one more run. highlights included 53 days this season, 2 feet of blower on my birthday, 5 feet in utah, 50" storm total at K, a month fling at Killington, summiting mt washington, and meeting an amazing amazing girl
