Moose on trail with pics

Last Monday at Jackson Hole after a quick dash down Moran Face on my way to the Apres Vous chair I had a close call with a Moose. I made a hard left on to a cut-off and she was just standing in the middle of the trail so I skidded to a stop and snapped a few pics.

The experience was a good reminder that we are only visitors into the mountains. It was a much better experience than I had last year at Copper Mountain where they shot and killed a coyote on the slopes while we were there.

Anyone else have any interesting wildlife encounters at a resort?

We saw a couple of Rams (or Big Horn Sheep) on the slopes at Loveland Basin one year.

I saw a big coyote over at sugarbush north a long time ago when I was making snow.

I hit a squirrel last Wednesday at J-Hole. He didn't get up. I guess it's better than hitting the moose. (Better for me... not for the squirrel.)

I saw a turkey at Sunday River, I think that is the 'wildest' animal I've seen on the trail

I saw moose at JH when I was out a few years ago - patrol was banging sticks on metal pots to try to scare/encourage them into the woods......with limited success....although they eventually wandered off after a while....

On my last trip to Jackson Hole, I didn't see one Moose..

That's ok, you got a lot more snow two weeks ago than we had last week.

Don't have pics of any of them...

A couple years ago, we saw a bear in the Ullr's dream at Jay before the season really kicked off... People were skiing the area but trails were closed... Didn't like it much...

Last weekend we saw a moose while XC skiing... not to mention that the moose screwed up our XC trails by walking right on it for most of it... Not fun on the climbs!

I've had mosquitos smashed on my goggles in the spring at Belleayre, does that count?
