This might be a bit of a drive for you, but Mt. Cranmore up in North Conway, NH is a great place for families. They've got an excellent staff up there and the prices are the cheapest in NH as far as lift tickets go. Lodging is plentiful too since North Conway is a big ski town. I'm a college student and even though it's an easy mountain I still like going there, because on weekdays it's practically empty.
Also, the last time I went there I broke a brake off one of my brand new skis during the first run of the day. I brought it into their rental shop expecting to sit and wait then shell out big bucks after they fixed it. As soon as I got in the door though, the guy put it on the workbench, fixed the brake in about 5 minutes, handed it back to me and said - no charge! Haven't had a problem with them since. So I recommend Cranmore to everyone now.
