Great day at a great hill. Arrived just in time to get the $15 deal. They hit 100 about 10 places after me. I don't think they went too far over 100. Grooming was just finishing as I booted up in an empty lodge. Sun was shining, lifts were ski-on alllllll day. What a cool place. Tons of character, really nice people. First time there, so started on the triple and skied the entire hill starting skiers left. Top half of the face was set up a bit in the morning, but softened nicely as it absorbed the warm sun throughout the day. Two things I noted: 1. The place is loaded with winding, narrow trails that were all seemingly deserted. I was solo and enjoyed some moments of quiet mountain solitude. 2. The trail map/signage is not exactly 100% accurate...not a complaint, just an observation. I skied several trails that were not mapped, and a few sign names did match map names. Made it more fun to explore, imo.
Short lunch break on the deck and back at it. All of the 'front four' runs were in nice shape and skied very well. Blockbuster seemed like it was seeded on 1 side and natural on the other, and the natural side was soft and bumped up. Quite a workout and a lot of fun, but I'm glad no one filming me because I was ugly. Knocked off around 3pm as I was dead legged and had a long drive. Maybe pushed a little too hard but I was having too much fun and it was worth it.
