Preliminary Winter Outlook

Take it for what its worth. I still say that they really don't have much of a clue to what this winter will bring. Just like how they predicited this hurricane season :roll:

November: minor snowfalls late in the month
December: Slight thaw around the 12-13 but then steady accumulations
January: Frigid with two major blizzards
February: Dump-a-thon every week
March: Think Sybil - rain/snow/70s/ high winds
April: watch it start to melt

I like accuweather because they use pretty pictures and awesome font. Seriously though, what is bad about a warm winter? Rain or snow in the mountains does not depend on temperature nearly as much as storm track. It can be an extremely cold air mass, but if the storm tracks way west it is going to be rain(possibly freezing rain, but that is even worse) no matter what. Sure if you ski at, lets say, Ski Sundown then you are screwed but as long as you ski up north at high elevation ski areas you're find. Also, 1997 was a very strong El Nino year and it was epic.
