Square feet vs Vertical feet.

Would you give up square feet in your home..move to a smaller place to live near a mountain with more vertical feet than your home hill??? Is the Square footage of you house/apartment..larger than the Vertical descent of your home mountain? I imagine people living in Whistler or Jackson Hole mainly have homes of less than 4-5,000 vertical feet. While most people with season passes at Blue have a house that's more than 1082 square feet. I guess at Killington and Stowe..it's a wash..

If You have a short minute..please participate in my thread or add any insight..Thanks in advance..

Currently 1500 sq ft and 1000 vert ft.

1500 is ok, 2000 would be ideal for the family and makes a for a nice mtn too.

LOL, I thought our apt was smaller than vert ft for local hill, but I guess not.

APT: 700 sq ft (with 2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog, mind you...)
Local Hill Vert: 625 ft

I can't imagine giving up any more space! But I want to move to Vermont (and hence closer a bigger ski area) anyway... is that a cop-out on the question?

Wow, that's how big our family is and my house feels small sometimes. I really want another bedroom/office/guestroom and a second bathroom.

I give you and Brian a lot of credit...last time I had a 700 sq ft apartment was a 1BR when I was first married.

I'm at 2500 sq ft and 710 feet...but my "home hill" is an hour away and my commute to work is longer than I would like.

Less space for the kids to mess up, right? :D I complain about it, but I kind of like the coziness. Though 1 more room would be great. Brian and I started out with this place pre-kids and dog so there have been a lot of adjustments along the way to make room for everyone.

I moved out of a 2800 square foot house and moved into a 1200 square foot townhouse to be closer to 3k vert.

House: 2600 sq ft
Local Hill Vert: 625 ft

With one kid and 2 dogs at this point in my life I would gladly trade some sq ft to increase the peak of the mighty Sundown. ;-)
