When do you expect to do most of your skiing this season? On weekdays, or weekends? I usually try to ski weekdays or Sundays. Very rarely do I ski Saturdays. I don't think I skied on a Saturday at all last season. This year, I'll probably do several Friday day trips, some Sundays, many weeknights, and a few extended midweek stays.

Weekends, especially with work starting this fall, though I've always gone more often on weekends. Hopefully I'll be able to a few days off at some point, but I'm not sure what the view is on taking vacation days so early.

Wed. nights at Sundown. Saturday and/or Sunday at Catamount. I will also do a couple of midweek day trips to Cata. If all goes well I'm trying for a midweek and weekend overnight somewhere in VT.

Unfortunately, most of my ski days fall on weekends. I find that most days still aren't too crowded at the mountains that I frequent.

I plan to do alot more weekday skiing working close to Sundown, especially if it is a powder day. Being only 20 miles away from a ski area gives me alot more flexibility than living on Long Island. I will have to see how far of a drive Wachusett is for a midweek night trip.

I think the mountains of choice for next season will be Berkshire East, Mount Snow, Magic, Stratton and Bromely. They are all fairly close to the Hartford area.

Weekday. I skied two days this season on weekends out of 20 or 21. If I go to Wachusett night skiing that will only go up too.

I ski every Saturday and Sunday during ski season...still looking out for the alleged crowds everyone complains about.

I try to take at least a weekday or two off each week during peak season (January-March). Those days are nice because instead of a few other skiers the mountain is essentially empty.

I know I'm messing with industry gospel, but there just aren't the crowds at Hunter that most folks will have you believe. Some of the stories I hear are just total nonsense. I can count on one hand the number of times I wait more than 10 minutes in any lift line at Hunter in a whole season, and I'm there roughly 40 days a year. The crowd thing just doesn't exist.

But hey, it's OK if people think that way. I should shut up before alot of people come to see and it really does get crowded.

Sundays and Holiday weeks here -- vacation time gets used up at other times so it's hard to take days off. Only ever went once on a Saturday evening; I usually have other stuff going on on Saturdays.

For next season I'd like to supplement with some regular night skiing during the week if I can... :-)

Weekends, plus one holiday week and a few scattered midweek days.

I agree, if you know where to go (which resort, which lifts when, which trails) you can minimize the annoyance of crowds. I hate waiting in line for even 10 minutes, but I rarely have to, even on weekends at ASC resorts. I would guess that I wait less than 2 minutes for 80% of the chairs I take. Frequently there's no wait at all.

What shwilly said. Plus Monday nights racing at Pats, and perhaps some night skiing at granite gorge (last year Wednesday was race night - it would be good to get in the gates 2x/wk).

I never EVER ski on a weekday or holiday. Usually I ski every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. But I'm lucky enough to have the flexibility to do this..

Assuming you meant to say "weekend", does this mean you don't ski on weekend powder days?

Yes, I meant weekends.

And even though I don't like them, there's only so much temptation a person can take...

My most horrendous liftline experience in nearly 25 years of skiing was at Hunter, while I was waiting for a chair on Z lift at Hunter West. The liftline was easily 30 minutes +, and probably closer to 45 minutes, but besides that one time, Hunter has been good to me.
