Why Pico, Why?

Why is there no lift to the summit operating Friday? Saving it for the weekend?
Between that and Outpost closed, this is a midweek non-starter for me!

something on that page is a typo. How can the summit express lift be closed, but trails from the top of it be open? Summit Glades, upper sunset 71, upper KA all reported open.

lots of wind for tomorrow. jay peak warns in their trail report about lift holds. so a summit lift being down seems understandable. from what i understand, the outpost doesn't run much any more, definitely not mid-week lift it would seem.

Outpost never runs, and you're lucky if they run the Triple or Little Pico lift during the week too. That summit lift often is on hold due to wind though! What an underutilized place...

That is weather related and looking at the forecast rightfully so.

I am as pissed as anybody about k's underutilazation of lifts, I am bulllsh!t about the death of the srt, but this is definitely weather related.

we are scheduled to hit Pico tomorrow (saturday) but will change plans and ski K if the lifts at Pico will be on wind holds...what do you all think?

i have been disapointed with pico's performance this year. granted there is little snow to be found of the nat. type, but with plenty opt. to make it and still under 50 percent of its terrain open i have been neglecting to go there. as far as this weekend is concern you might be better off at Killington esp if lifts are on hold at pico

I think you are right, K will be a safer bet tomorrow than Pico...less than 50% open, sketch conditions as per the reports i've been reading and possible wind holds...at least at K you can find a protected spot....
