Well....it's going fast. Winter 08-09 is wrapping up quick and it's getting less and less likely that we will see any big dumps fo snow....boat is out, bike is in the shop...Moto's not starting...I'm gonna go ahead and call it over for me. This winter was great! Pow in October again. Skiied Whiteface for the first time. (sick and big) Snow quality was fantastic for 2 long steches thru January and February...and many coversations were had while reskinng about how spoiled we were in terms of snow quality. When it was good, it was freaking good, and a few days that were down right unforgettable. Lots of light gear stuff in the Norwick ski area out back...and skiied the reclaimed line I hacked out between the lift line and the jump hill. Laughed out loud many time while skiing trees in perfect snow on bluebird days. As far as number of days on the "Big" gear, I would say 30? But at least twice as many days skiing out back on bc skis for an hour or two here and there. I worked alot more this winter then I have since running my own place. It was a good season for that. The snow was crap during X-Mas and Presidents week so that made it easy.....
Runs I'll remember from this year. First run at Whiteface. Clifftrail in theigh deep blower in November. Chin Clip the next day, dawn patrol. Both runs down Steve's line on Mansfield. The Brook with the Zimmers with the deepest lightest snow I've ever skiied. Truely bottomless with unlimited choking faceshots for many cointinuous moments. My last day for the last 2 years was at the same natural Mtn.
It was deep powder....
I'm ready for a green landscape now.
