I'm an ex college jock and former college coach who stays in shape and can still ski hard top to bottom runs non stop for 5--6hrs but @age (65) the reflexes start to go about 3 in the afternoon

I ski extremely well for my age ! and that's all i care about ratings ,

i ski fast , i don't biff and i'm smart enuf at my age to KNOW what i can no longer do --nuff said :D
 
Luckly, my metobolism is still cranking. I still weigh 185 lbs, the same weight I was at graduation eight years ago. Granted, muscle has given way to a bit of fluff :-D
Having a house, wife, and child on the way makes it harder to keep active (they are totally worth it). I try to get out and move around as much as I can.

My fighting weight was 134. My natural weight now is 165. I've added alot of leg since my wrestling days, but I've lost alot of shoulder too. It's all good until I can't rage anymore....I have weights, but they just hold the floor down at this point....

Some days these vary too. I'm not just a spring chicken anymore, just chicken sometimes...... ;) I just know what I can and can't do and some days are better than others.... I'll take the good days when I can get 'em.

How tall are you??? I'm a few pounds over my fighting weight which helps me ski faster..AtomicSkier lost 40 pounds over the summer which helps me catch him on the flats..My weights are also collecting dust but pushing around tombstones helps alot..my arms are strong from pushing tombstones and my legs are strong from skiing but I like to drink alot of beer..
 
I'm 5'7" and also drink too much beer. I'm sure I'd drop 10 pounds if I quite the juice.

I'd rather be 10 pounds heavier and enjoy the beer...I've actually dropped a few pounds recently..mainly due to no eating after 8PM and when I drink at the bar..bypassing wings and other fried foods..
 
A rating on a scale is essentially a comparison to a given standard. Seems like the standard has not been established in this thread. All skiers including beginners, recreational skiers that have at least proficiency to ski any groomed trail, are we including professionals on the scale, etc. I would have different ratings for each set of standards and would rate myself significantly higher than the recreational skiing population but lower than the pros. This could also include a standard of highest possible personal best as well.

If 10 was a competitive pro or globe trotting sponsored skier and a 1 is a low level skier that can survive most trails, I would go with something like...

Pow/Glade/Terrain: 8
Bumps: 6
Groomers: 6.5
GAA: 6.5 (was probably an 8 in college :( )
